Duke (James Garner) regularly reads the pages of a notebook to an elderly woman in a nursing home. Suffering from Alzheimer's disease, memories of the documents he had read in the past, it seems and disappears without order, but Duke continues to read for her by her deep and lasting friendship.

The story focuses on the book of life of children who meet at a carnival in the 1930s. At first, Allie Hamilton does not know what to think of Noah Calhoun, but fairly early in his insistence that he go on a date. When Noah and Allie fell in love, Allie's parents try to break the couple. The Hamiltons are rich, and Noah and his father were in the poor side of town. However, Allie and Noah are determined to be together.

When World War Gust, Noah is sent into the conflict. He wrote many letters to his love, but which remain unanswered, because Allie's parents are hiding letters and replied to Noah. After several years apart, Allie is engaged to wealthy businessman. But after read a newspaper article about Noah's restoration of a historic house that once promised, he decides to visit him.

Actor Ryan Gosling is entertaining and likeable in his portrayal of young and energetic Noah Calhoun. The Notebook as a film is better served by his talent with pride. Similarly, up-and-coming actress Rachel McAdams is brilliant in her role as Allie. The emotions of young love story is clearly conveyed by a natural and instinctive tendency for delivery in a few lines in the right way. Call the on-screen charisma or whatever, but McAdams is one to consider in the future.

In summary, The laptop is a good film because it is like a book. Few books translate to the big screen and in print if the device has been hailed for their ability to do. Enchanting and easy to love, the film glorifies the romance of a young couple who find true love – a love that lasts forever.
